The department offers collaboration in the following areas:
- combustion of fuels in order to increase the efficiency of heat aggregates and to reduce emissions in the combustion process
- study of the effect of flue gas recirculation on the combustion process
- the influence of magnetic, resp. electromagnetic field on the combustion process
- using of reburning to reduce nitrogen oxides in outgoing flue gas, low-emission combustion and oxy-combustion
- convection and heat exchanges in heat-power aggregates
- heat work and balancing of heat processes, furnaces and heat aggregates
- mathematical modelling and optimization of energy conversion and heat transfer processes in heat aggregates
- utilization of renewable and non-traditional energy sources
- gasifying of biomass
- transport and distribution of energy media
